Gaustatoppen

Gaustabanen
Gaustabanen is a two-part train journey inside Gaustatoppen that takes you almost to the summit. The railway starts at an elevation of 1150 meters with a small train that takes you 850 meters into the mountain. Then, you transfer to the cable car, which ascends 1080 meters at a 39-degree incline to the summit station at an elevation of 1800 meters. From the summit station, you can walk a 30-meter outdoor stone staircase to Gaustatoppen Turisthytte, which offers dining and accommodation options. If you continue up the stone staircase to the plateau near the radio tower and move along the ridge, you will eventually reach an elevation of 1883 meters above sea level, which is the highest point of Gaustatoppen. The final section is rugged and very steep on both sides. All travel is at your own risk.
