Gaustaekspressen
Make your stay at Gausta effortless with our shuttle service. With fixed stops and schedules, we’ll take you between the cabin areas and the ski resort, so you don’t have to worry about transportation.
The shuttle bus operates only during the ski resort’s opening hours. Summer season schedules will be announced.
By car
- Oslo - Gausta: 183 km (2.5 hours)
- Stavanger - Gausta: 340 km (6 hours)
- Bergen - Gausta: 370 km (6 hours)
- Haugesund - Gausta: 300 km (5 hours)
- Kristiansand - Gausta: 290 km (4.5 hours)
- Gothenburg - Gausta: 440 km (5.5 hours)
By bus og train
If you want to travel to Gausta by bus, there are daily express buses to Rjukan from Oslo, changing in Notodden. It is also possible to take the train to Notodden and change to a bus from here. You can take Fjellbussen from Rjukan to Gausta during selected periods, or you can take a taxi.
By plane
The nearest international airport is Oslo Gardermoen Airport, which is located about 225 km from Gausta. To get to Gausta from here, you can rent a car (about a 3.5-hour drive) or take the bus. There is a bus from the airport to Rjukan several times a day (with changes in Oslo and Notodden). Sandefjord Airport Torp is about 180 km away. From here there are trains and buses to Rjukan every day (several changes).
Parking at Gausta
Parking is available outside Gaustablikk Fjellresort for hotel and restaurant guests. Parking for visitors to the ski center can be found outside Stova and the Ski Center (at the bottom of the hotel hill).
Today, we offer a total of 12 universal electric vehicle charging stations in the hotel's parking area, and an additional 16 in the ski center's parking area.
Please remember to bring your own Type 2 charging cable, and easily make payments using the Chargenode.eu app.
