The name "Sam's Power Station" is a tribute to Sam Eyde, the man considered the founder of both Hydro and Rjukan. His vision of "putting the waterfall to useful work for the people" marked the beginning of a unique industrial adventure that Norway had never seen before.
Eyde's work contributed to harnessing Norway's natural resources and initiating a pioneering industrial development that continues to shape the country's history and pave the way for sustainable growth.
