Level 1 | Mon - Fri
Give yourself and the kids a great introduction to the ski slopes! In the beginner classes, you’ll learn how to have fun on your skis – and start to pick up some skills, through a series of simple exercises. Our experienced instructors tailor the lessons to the experience and skills of the participants. Prior experience: This is a course for those who are skiing for the first time. Together, we’ll have a lot of fun – and learn, safely. Remember that the best way to learn is to practise both with the teacher and on your own between lessons. Goal:To make a snow plough stop and turn both ways on green slopes. Meeting point: 1Meeting point 1 can be found on the right side of Barneheisen (lift L). Please note: All participants aged 7 years or older must have a valid SkiPass to join the ski school. A SkiPass is not required for the use of the beginner’s conveyor belt. If there are fewer than 3 students, lessons may be reduced from 5 days to 3 days, running from Monday to Wednesday.

Level 1 | Sat - Sun

Level 1.5 | Mon - Fri
Prior experience:Level 1.5 is for children who can stop, turn and take the lift.This is a course for those who are skiing for the first few times. Together, we’ll have a lot of fun – and learn, safely. Remember that the best way to learn is to practise both with the teacher and on your own between lessons.Goal:To make a snow plough stop and turn both ways on green slopes. Please note: All participants aged 7 years or older must have a valid SkiPass to join the ski school. A SkiPass is not required for the use of the beginner’s conveyor belt. Level 2 | Mon - Fri
On this level we learn to ski with more parallel skis for more control, so that you can have fun on the blue slopes.Prior experience:This course is for people who have been skiing before. You know how to “snow plough” to a stop, you can turn both ways – and you know how to ride a button lift on your own.Goal:To ski with parallel skis on blue slopes, to be able to keep the skis parallel through most of the turn, and to control your speed on blue slopes by turning. Please note: All participants aged 7 years or older must have a valid SkiPass to join the ski school. A SkiPass is not required for the use of the beginner’s conveyor belt. If there are fewer than 3 students, lessons may be reduced from 5 days to 3 days, running from Monday to Wednesday.

Level 2 | Sat - Sun
Prior experience:This course is for people who have been skiing before. You know how to “snow plough” to a stop, you can turn both ways – and you know how to ride a button lift on your own.Goal:To ski with parallel skis on blue slopes, to be able to keep the skis parallel through most of the turn, and to control your speed on blue slopes by turning.

Level 3 | Mon - Fri
Together, we’ll have fun learning to ski with parallel skis at a slightly higher speed on steeper slopes – and find some exciting adventures.Prior experience:You can turn with mostly parallel skis and control your speed on blue slopes. You can stop with parallel skis on both sides.Goal:To ski with parallel skis on all red slopes, and adapt to different sorts of terrain. Please note: All participants aged 7 years or older must have a valid SkiPass to join the ski school. A SkiPass is not required for the use of the beginner’s conveyor belt. If there are fewer than 3 students, lessons may be reduced from 5 days to 3 days, running from Monday to Wednesday.

Level 4 | Mon - Fri
Together, we’ll have fun learning to ski with parallel skis at a higher speed on varying terrainPrior experience:Skiing with parallel skis on all red slopes and able to adapt to different terrain.Goal:To ski all slopes with good balance and adapt your speed and technique to all surfaces and snow conditions Please note: All participants aged 7 years or older must have a valid SkiPass to join the ski school. A SkiPass is not required for the use of the beginner’s conveyor belt. If there are fewer than 3 students, lessons may be reduced from 5 days to 3 days, running from Monday to Wednesday.

Level 5 | Mon - Fri
Together we’ll have fun learning to ski challenging terrain on the mountain.Prior experience:To ski all slopes with good balance and adapt your speed and technique to all surfaces and snow conditionsGoal:To ski dynamic parallel turns in all kinds of terrain and different snow conditions and be able to adapt my technique and tactics to different challenges on the mountain. Please note: All participants aged 7 years or older must have a valid SkiPass to join the ski school. A SkiPass is not required for the use of the beginner’s conveyor belt. If there are fewer than 3 students, lessons may be reduced from 5 days to 3 days, running from Monday to Wednesday.

We develop our snowboarding technique and find our balance on the board. We work on basic tricks like switch and 180 to find a better, more dynamic flow. As we get more comfortable with the proper technique, we will head out for an adventure on the mountain, looking for new challenges on the terrain. Please note: All participants aged 7 years or older must have a valid SkiPass to join the ski school. A SkiPass is not required for the use of the beginner’s conveyor belt. Introduction to ski touring
Discover Gaustablikk's backcountry and master ski touring equipment. Learn how to handle skins, ascend with them, and transition your bindings. Our seasoned guide imparts snow safety and crucial backcountry tips. Enjoy a ski tour to Skipsfjell's peak for panoramic views of Vestfjord Valley with Rjukan, Hardangervidda National Park, and Gaustatoppen, all while sipping hot chocolate. Guided Ski Touring with Sturla
Enjoy a guided ski tour on the mountains surrounding Gausta. Which one depends on the weather and conditions – but we have the option of going towards Ørnenipa, Toreskyrkja or Gaustatoppen. Along the way we will stop and visit topics that are necessary for you to know in order to travel safely in the terrain.The route will vary depending on the weather, snow conditions, the group's wishes and other conditions, and has this as the goal of the trip:To carry out an enjoyable day trip on randoneeski and make safe route choices through the lesson on how to handle avalanche danger along the way.The participant must be able to recognize avalanche danger through knowledge of weather, snow conditions, terrain and people traveling in the mountains.The participant will also gain basic knowledge to be able to perform buddy rescue if an accident should occur.Price: 1195 NOK per personFitness Level: ModerateAge: 13+Duration: 6 hoursMax # of Participants: 6

Guided snowshoe tour
Explore the stunning nature on snowshoes at Gausta's secret location with views of Gaustatoppen, the UNESCO World Heritage town of Rjukan, and Hardangervidda National Park. Dog Sledding/Hundekjøring - Skibar
Remember to book one spot per person (1 spot = 1 person) – and if no more spots are shown, the session is fully booked or multiple spots may already have been booked on the same sled at that time. (It is not possible to enter the number of people in the comment field.) Feel the thrill of gliding through a snow-covered landscape as the huskies’ paws drum softly against the snow. At Gausta, you can experience the magic of dog sledding with Telemark Husky, an unforgettable journey through the winter terrain around Kvitåvatn, just below Gaustablikk Fjellresort. It’s the perfect break from the ski slopes and a true mountain adventure.After your ride, warm up inside the cozy lavvu tent with a hot drink and spend a moment with the friendly dogs as they rest after their run.Length: Approx. 3 km loop (around 15 minutes of sledding), with time to meet the dogs before and after.Location: Lavvu tent below Gaustablikk Fjellresort, by Kvitåvatn. The lavvu is about a 10-minute walk from the parking area at Gaustablikk Fjellresort. Time: 11:00–14:00. Choose your preferred departure time when bookingMeeting point: At the lavvu.
