Gausta Sportell is a simple, self-service hotel with a relaxed atmosphere – an ideal base for exploring Gausta throughout the year. The hotel offers modern double rooms, family rooms, and spacious apartments, making it a great choice for couples, families, and groups of friends alike.
Here, you'll be close to nature and mountain adventures. In winter, the hotel is located just 50 metres from the Gausta Ski Resort, while summer offers excellent opportunities for hiking, cycling, and exploring the area around Gaustatoppen.
The hotel features digital check-in and operates as a self-service property for most of the year. During the winter season, the hotel is staffed, and stays include half board with breakfast and dinner.
For the rest of the year, accommodation is offered without meals included. The bar is open during the winter season and throughout the peak summer season, serving a simple food menu during the summer opening period.
Just outside the hotel, you'll find a stop for the Gausta Express shuttle, making it easy to get around the destination. We recommend checking the current timetable and operating periods before your arrival.

Summer at Gausta Sportell
During the summer season, Gausta Sportell offers a simple, self-service stay close to some of Gausta's most popular attractions. As the hotel closest to both Gaustatoppen and the Gaustabanen funicular, it is an ideal base for hiking, cycling, and other outdoor activities.
Several of the units feature fully equipped kitchens, while the double rooms are well suited for shorter, simpler stays. The hotel offers digital check-in, and during the peak summer season, Sportell Bar is open, serving a simple food menu. Breakfast is not served at Gausta Sportell outside the winter season.
The Bakery and Pose & Sekk are open throughout the summer, offering light meals and everyday essentials. If you're looking for a restaurant experience, Bjørk and Kirk's at Gaustablikk Fjellresort are just a short drive away. It is also possible to purchase the breakfast buffet at Gaustablikk Fjellresort, subject to availability. Please contact the resort reception directly to check availability.

Half board included in the stay during winter season
All stays at Gausta Sportell during the winter season include half board – a relaxed dining experience that gives you the energy for active days in the mountains.
Each evening, a three-course buffet is served in the hotel’s restaurant on the ground floor. The meal begins with a warm seasonal soup, often vegetable- or vegetarian-based. The main course features meat with sauce and vegetables, with a vegetarian option available. The dinner is rounded off with a simple, seasonal dessert.
In the morning, a breakfast buffet is served in the same restaurant – the perfect start to a new day in the mountains.
